Welcome to Hari Bol (the "Application" or "App"), developed by ManasAI Technology Private Limited ("we", "us", or "our"). Hari Bol is a specialized spiritual utility created to assist practitioners and devotees in chanting the sacred Hare Krishna Mahamantra (Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare).

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through transparent data practices. This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Hari Bol mobile application and associated backend services. Please read this policy carefully to understand how we collect, process, store, and safeguard your information.

2 Information We Collect

We believe in collecting only the data essential to providing accurate mantra counting and sadhana analytics. We distinguish between information the App actually collects and information it may collect depending on your chosen features:

A. Information Actually Collected:

• Audio Recordings: When you deliberately press the "Start Recording" button, the App captures your audio through your device's microphone in 16 kHz Mono PCM 16-bit format to detect and count mantra cycles.
• Acoustic & Chant Statistics: Derived numerical metrics including session duration, speech active duration, silence duration, words per minute (WPM), average cadence per mantra cycle, and Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) match scores.
• Chanting History & Bead Progress: Counts of completed mantra cycles, rounds (108 beads per round), session timestamps, and devotee session labels.

B. Information You May Optionally Provide:

• Profile Information (Optional): If you choose to authenticate via Google Sign-In, we receive your basic public profile information (such as your display name and email address) to maintain your chanting history across devices. If you choose Guest Mode, an anonymous local guest identifier is generated.
• Hardware Accessory Data (Optional): If you pair a compatible Sakshi Smart Ring via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), the App receives tap/bead vibration events and device status metrics to correlate manual bead counting with acoustic tracking.

3 Microphone and Audio Recording Permissions

Hari Bol requires access to your device's microphone (via the standard Android android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO permission).

• Purpose of Permission: The microphone is utilized solely to capture the acoustic vibrations of your chanting so that our on-device algorithm can detect each Holy Name and count your completed mantra cycles.
• Deliberate Activation Only: The microphone is active only while a chanting session is explicitly in progress. A clear, persistent on-screen interface ("Recording in Progress") displays live audio waveform bars and an active duration timer.
• Immediate Closure: When you tap "Stop Recording" or "Discard Session", the microphone hardware session is immediately closed and released. Hari Bol never listens or records in the background when no session is running.

4 How We Use Your Information

We use the data collected for the following specific purposes:

• Mantra Cycle Verification: Analyzing chanting audio via subsequence Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) and neural voice centroids to accurately record your completed beads and rounds.
• Sadhana Tracking & History: Displaying your personal chanting history, speed trends, active meditation duration, and spiritual consistency in your personal dashboard.
• High-Fidelity Audio Playback: Allowing you to listen back to your recorded chanting sessions to reflect on your pronunciation, focus, and cadence.
• Account Synchronization: Syncing your recorded sessions and mantra totals to your devotee profile so your history is preserved if you change devices.
• App Stability & Error Diagnosis: Ensuring the real-time audio pipeline operates smoothly without frame drops, timeouts, or UI freezes.

5 Audio Storage and Data Processing

Hari Bol utilizes a transparent, hybrid dual-engine processing architecture:

• On-Device Real-Time Processing: Live cycle counting during your chanting session is computed entirely on-device using a lightweight neural feature extractor running inside an isolated background worker thread on your smartphone. Streaming audio chunks are evaluated locally without streaming live audio packets to external servers.
• Local Storage on Device: When you complete a session, the uncompressed standard audio file is saved locally in your device's application storage directory (e.g., japa_chant_*.wav).
• Cloud Synchronization: When an active Internet connection is available, the completed session audio and session statistics are uploaded securely to our backend infrastructure to ensure your sadhana history is preserved and accessible.

6 Cloud Storage and Third-Party Services

To deliver cloud backup and cross-device synchronization, Hari Bol interfaces with trusted infrastructure providers:

• Cloudflare (Workers, R2 Storage, D1 Database): Our backend API runs on Cloudflare Workers. Audio session files are stored in private Cloudflare R2 object storage buckets, and session metadata (cycles, duration, timestamps) is recorded in Cloudflare D1 databases.
• Google Sign-In (Google LLC): An optional sign-in mechanism that authenticates your identity via OAuth 2.0 without granting us access to your Google account password.

These third-party providers process data exclusively to execute their contracted infrastructure services in compliance with industry security standards.

7 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We disclose information only under the following limited circumstances:

• Infrastructure Providers: To Cloudflare for data hosting, storage, and backend routing as described in Section 6.
• Legal Compliance: If strictly required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental regulation to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.

8 Data Retention and Deletion

• Local Audio Files: Stored on your device until you delete the recording in the App's History screen, clear the App data, or uninstall the Application.
• Cloud Records: Maintained to provide continuous access to your historical chanting logs and sadhana metrics as long as your account remains active.
• Right to Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account, cloud recordings, and all associated metadata at any time by visiting our dedicated Account & Data Deletion Page or contacting us at anmol@manasai.tech. Upon verification, your data will be permanently deleted from our primary databases and object storage.

9 Data Security

We employ standard administrative and technical safeguards to protect your personal information:

• Encryption in Transit: All communications between the Hari Bol mobile app and our backend servers are strictly encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 / TLS 1.3 / HTTPS).
• Storage Isolation: Cloud-stored audio files are accessible only via authenticated API endpoints and are not exposed to the public web.
• Device Security: Local audio files reside in your application's private sandbox storage on Android.

Please note that no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is 100% impenetrable. While we strive to protect your data using commercially reasonable means, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10 Children's Privacy

Hari Bol is intended for spiritual practitioners and the general public. The App is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at anmol@manasai.tech so we can promptly take corrective action and remove the information.

11 User Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you have choices and rights regarding your information:

• Access & Review: You can review your completed recordings, cycle counts, and duration history directly within the App's History screen at any time.
• Permission Revocation: You can grant or revoke microphone permissions at any time through your device's System Settings > Apps > Hari Bol > Permissions.
• Offline / Guest Use: You are never forced to link an email account. You may use Hari Bol anonymously in Guest Mode.
• Data Export & Deletion: You may request a summary or deletion of your server-stored chanting records by contacting our support team.

12 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements in our chanting detection pipeline, new features, or evolving legal requirements. When updates are published, the revised date at the top ("Last Updated") will be modified.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of Hari Bol following the posting of an updated policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the changes.
